Daily Drawings

From September 1st 2023 to August 31st 2024 I committed myself to painting one animal each day. Thanks to the leap year I ended up with 366 animal paintings. Each month I gave myself a theme such as “Woodland Creatures”, “Fluffy”, “Mythological” and so on.

I learned early on that a whole painting a day was aggressive. I also discovered in January that I was pregnant with my first baby. I ended up adjusting to the commitment of working on these drawings every day. My days were spent either sketching, inking, painting, scanning and processing, or sourcing references for the next bunch of paintings. I posted each week of paintings on my instagram account so everyone could keep up with my progress along the way.

I learned some valuable lessons in time management and got to really explore my style and what makes my art my own. Not every one of these drawings is what I would call “successful” but each one taught me a lesson. I hope you enjoy perusing the journey as much as I did painting them.

If you fall in love with one (or more) of them, my available prints are in my print shop.
